Cyril Despres and Michael Metge sign a new sponsorship deal with XCentric Ripper
From the 1st January next year, just a few days before the start of the 2014 Dakar, Yamaha Factory Racing riders Cyril Despres and team mate Michael Metge will official begin their partnership with new ‘outside’ sponsor XCentric Ripper. Based in Spain but with a global presence, XCentric Ripper have chosen to promote their revolutionary extraction and demolition tool, used in civil engineering, mining and quarrying, by underlining the shared values of performance, endurance and reliability.
Commented Michael Metge, “I have only recently attained the status of professional rider. Before that I worked in my father’s civil engineering business and there is a certain symmetry in being accompanied in that transition by such a well-respected brand as XCentric Ripper. They are important and dependable partners to many businesses like my family’s across the globe and I hope to emulate that relationship with Cyril on this next Dakar and in the years to come.”
Added Cyril Despres, “My background is as a mechanic and since turning professional over 12 years ago I have depended on machines to achieve my sporting ambitions. Unlike Michael I have no special knowledge of civil engineer but I can recognise an exceptional and innovative piece of machinery when I see it! For me our new partnership with XCentric Ripper is a perfect match. Our goals and values are the same and I’m looking forward to a long and productive relationship.”
Concluded the President of XCentric Ripper, Javier Aracama, “Our tool is the best in its class and we wanted the best champions to represent it. But the choice of Cyril and Mika is also based on their real interest in our technology. There’s no doubting their passion for beautifully made machinery. Pushing equipment to the limit in all conditions, keeping up the pace for hours on end, under extreme conditions, is the daily existence of XCentric Ripper and the passion of our champions. ”
